Beautiful and simple lines are brought together to create mesmerizing patterns that shine in contrasting colors, typically made by stamping mud to fabric to create mudcloth. The Bamako Pillow Crochet Pattern uses a fair isle colorwork technique to mimic these stunning designs. The motif's main color switches on the opposite side to provide versatility.

While influenced by African traditions, The Bamako Pillow's is designed for everyone to enjoy. Be sure to choose two high contrast yarns for this project to allow the design to come alive!

This is a bulky weight Advanced Beginner pattern. The pattern features 3 different ways to follow along the pattern, a printer friendly version & links to video tutorials ot help with techniques and special stitches.

This sample is made with WeCrochet Wool of the Andes Superwash Bulky in Coal and Oatmeal Heather.

It is my hope that my design pays a respectful homage to the African Diaspora and invites others to learn more about where it comes from. While deeply influenced by African traditions and patterns, The Bamako PIllow is for everyone and I invite you all to make one.

This project is a special one for me. It is something that I am extremely proud of. I hope to create more mudcloth themed home goods in the future to further honor my ancestors.
