New Logo

Things are looking quite different these days! I've got a new logo, a new color scheme and a I'm thrilled about them!

This is my first professionally made logo. It makes me feel like an absolute pro. I partnered with BLK. Creative in Florida to make a truly ICONIC logo that fits my style, personality & mission.

Let me tell you about it!

I found Chinelle of BLK. Creative through another local Seattle friend of mine that owns F*ck Yeah Weddings. She worked with Chinelle in the past and that was all of the referral I needed to contact her. Turns out she is not only a Black graphic designer but also does birth photography. Again, those are major green flags for ya girl!

I selected a package that included a brand guide, pattern, and logo. Having the guide was a huge plus for me. Knowing that I would not only get a logo that I loved but also the ability to market my company with it is clutch.

This is the pattern that was created. It mimics the Ankara prints in Africa!

Part of the process included me describing my business what I do how I do and what makes me stand out. I'll be the first to say that this particular exercise was rather difficult for me. I'm not the most introspective person but with the help of my friend, Beth of Things.BethMakes, I was able to provide answers to her questions that I was proud of.

Based on the answers & Pinterest board of my aesthetic, Chinelle created the lovely logo you see before you! She also created some supplementary iconography to use throughout my website and branding so I hope you love it!

Inspiration

My favorite part is how the icon looks like a headwrap but is really a ball of yarn! Plus it includes a warm and comforting color palette. The rich brown is a color I would have never chosen but the green and yellow are totally in my wheelhouse.

It was important to me to keep the yarny vibe without leaning to far towards crochet or knitting. Having the hand lettering come from the yarn ball is so neat don’t you think?

It’s really cool to see how these subtle changes give the site a modern feel.

merch shop

What is great about this new logo is it gives me the opportunity to finally open a merch store! I’m working with Printful to provide merch for you. These items are printed by a third party and sent directly through them. I’m very excited abuot this opportunity as I’ve been asked to have items like this in the past. Plus until June 30th I am offering 10% off of all merch sales with the code: NEWNESS.

KBB Signature Mug

KBB Bag

So now what? Well, I’d love to hear your feedback. Let me know what you think about the colors the inspiration, merch ideas, or anything! Please leave me your feedback in the comments below!
